Our team has spent our careers at the intersection of healthcare, operations, and technology. We've built AI solutions in academic settings, integrated them into health organizations, watched some succeed beyond expectations, and learned hard lessons from those that didn't work as planned. We've convened C-suite strategy meetings and walked through inpatient units to understand how nurses respond to alerts. We've celebrated when a predictive model helped a care team intervene, and debugged integration issues that kept those same models from effectively reaching clinicians and front-line staff.

Those experiences taught us something fundamental: the barriers to scaling the impact of healthcare AI aren't technical. They persist because too many vendors that sell AI solutions fail to focus on the last-mile details of implementation, while innovators solving problems on-the-ground lack the right partners to maximize impact.

Health organizations today face a daunting choice. Incumbent vendors offer AI capabilities tightly integrated with their platforms: convenient, but rarely best-in-class, and almost never objectively evaluated and monitored. AI pitches appear daily in inboxes, offering "transformative" point-solutions without understanding the real challenges of healthcare implementation. Both paths lead to the same destination: significant investment with unclear value; innovation that remains siloed rather than scaled.

We founded Vega Health because health organizations deserve better.

Health organizations deserve partners who have lived their challenges. Partners who have sat through the same vendor pitches, managed the same integrations, and have been held accountable to deliver real value in a clinical setting. Partners who understand the intricacies of technical code but never lose sight of the strategic outcomes that technology should drive.

Health organizations deserve access to AI solutions that are designed to solve their problems today, regardless of where they were built or who developed them. They deserve access to solutions that have been validated and proven to work. They should be equipped with the capabilities to scale, adapt, and develop their own solutions when necessary. And they should have a pulse on the performance of their AI solutions enterprise-wide via rigorous, objective monitoring and evaluation.

Vega Health's approach is built on three beliefs:

First, that innovation in healthcare AI should come from the health organizations, practitioners, and developers closest to care. Those who understand both the opportunities and the constraints of day-to-day healthcare operations. When we source AI solutions, we source from leading health organizations and healthcare innovators, because they've built tools that work in the real world, not just in controlled studies. And, we are committed to scaling those solutions broadly.

Second, that objectivity, transparency, and accountability are non-negotiables. We have no interest in vendor lock-in or limiting choices for our partners. Our job is to help health organizations find the right solution for their strategic priorities in the now, implement solutions successfully, and prove they are working. If the best solution for a use case comes from an incumbent EHR vendor, we will be the first to inform our partners. If it doesn't, we'll help our partners find what does work, or collaborate with them to develop something new.

Third, that evaluation and continuous monitoring aren't optional. These components are critical for transforming AI from an expensive experiment into a strategic asset that improves patient care and reduces administrative burdens. Real-world performance is the only metric that matters.

This is long-term work.
